Peoples Palace to open Dubbo’s One Night Stand

Each year triple j Unearthed provides an opportunity for a local act to open the One Night Stand concert.

After scouring through hundreds of acts from NSW’s Western Plains, the station has chosen pop punk act Peoples Palace to open the big event.

Born and bred in Dubbo, the quartet is made up of two brothers, a cousin and a best mate, ranging from only 19-22 years old.

The triple j team say the song I Want to Know caught their eye, “with equal measures of youthful angst and an energetic take on overcharged pop punk, nodding to hallmark born-in-the-90s influences like Fall Out Boy and The Getaway Plan.”

They have won the massive opportunity to share the stage with Flume, The Rubens, Seth Sentry and Ball Park Music on Saturday 13 April at the One Night Stand in Dubbo. Listen to their music here.

triple j’s free all-ages regional concerts are one of the biggest events of the station’s year. Not only will triple j broadcast the entire event live on the radio (from 10am), but for the first time the whole concert will be broadcast LIVE on ABC2 (from 7pm). Via a second screen you’ll also have Access All Areas with LIVE backstage video plus on-stage streaming on the triple j website, plus online videos, photos, music streams and artist blogs.

triple j’s One Night Stand in Dubbo is a free concert on Saturday 13 April 2013 at the Dubbo Showground.
