Perth brekky duo heads to Tanzania to perform miracles

98five’s Breakfast with Polly and Morro are taking their show to Tanzania as part of CBM’s Miracles Day.

A $32 “miracle” to CBM will restore the gift of sight to some of the world’s poorest people suffering from cataract blindness.

Last year, the folk at 98five Sonshine FM had set a target of 250 miracles but by the end of Miracles Day, Perth listeners helped reach 1044 miracles!

This morning the Breakfast show surprised their listeners with the big news and had a chat to CBM’s Director of Fundraising Heath McSolvin.

“It’s going to be an amazing week. This time next week we’ll be in Tanzania in Africa. That’s scary in itself,” says Heath.

“We’re getting [Polly & Morro] gowned up and put them into surgery so you can actually see cataract surgery happen, which is phenomenal.”

It will be the first overseas trip for the Breakfast show and it’s all for a great cause.

“We’re going to witness miracles ourselves,” says Breakfast co-host Paul ‘Morro’ Morrison.

“We are really looking forward to hanging out with CBM and it’s fantastic what CBM’s up to.”

Polly and Morro will arrive in Tanzania ahead of Miracles Day to visit the local community followed by two live broadcasts from their hotel on Wednesday, August 27 and Miracles Day, August 28.
