Poorly Drawn Pets – Clairsy and Lisa use their art ‘skills’ for a good cause

96FM‘s Clairsy & Lisa wanted to help raise much needed donations for Cat Haven, WA’s largest shelter for homeless, lost and abused cats. They decided they could ask their listeners to send in a picture of their beloved cat, dog, goat, horse, or axolotl alongside making a donation to Cat Haven and the duo would draw them. From that Clairsy & Lisa’s Poorly Drawn Pets was born – but perhaps the name came after a few of the first attempts!

Clairsy and Lisa needed to call in reinforcements with comedian Jon Pinder, who has a side hustle as a tattoo artist, giving them some basics on how to draw an animal. They also got assistance from some friends including Elliot Yeo from the West Coat Eagles, Hayden Young from the Fremantle Dockers and Adrian Barich (Barra) from Channel 7. Nothing beat though Premier Roger Cook getting to draw a cat called Mr. Catalina Cee Cee Fanta Pants.

The fundraiser has already raised being over $2,000 for Cat Haven.

Listeners have been so thrilled with the talents on display. One lady even started to tear up when she saw a portrait of her cat others are going “Straight To The Pool Room”.

I believe this was a scaled picture but it came through as scaled horse by Clairsy, which also works!

Lisa had such a great time she started signing the portraits under “Shawsy” as an ode to Banksy.

Lizard, by Lisa. I mean Shawsy.
