Queensland licence bidders will be named

Applications have now closed for commercial radio licences on Queensland’s Gold Coast and in Nambour. The ABA is expected announce that 8 applicants have registered to bid for the Gold Coast licence and 10 have registered for Nambour.

As part of a new policy the ABA will, from now on, release the identities of all applicants before auctions take place. The new policy will begin with this auction.

The Gold Coast licence will be on FM 102.9 and the Nambour licence will be FM 91.1. The licences are in desirable regions, but the auction process may be complicated by the fact that the service areas overlap the Brisbane licence area.
