Radio laws should be overhauled: Kyle Sandilands walks out after being dumped

“Radio laws should be overhauled,” said Kyle Sandilands this morning, after an on air segment about a court case was dumped.

Sandilands then walked out of the show, after arguing with the censor.

“I’m not interested in being puppetered by losers… Until this show runs the way I intend it to be run, I will not be back on the air at all, in any way, shape or form,” he said.

By the time this morning came around, Kyle was back on air at the opening of the show as if nothing had happened. “I forgot all about it… I grumbled off, laid down, came back and I forgot all about it.”

Jackie said, “the listeners might not have forgotten about it if they were hearing it yesterday… but anyway, welcome back!”

The KIIS breakfast show is already facing contempt of court action over comments made about the Erin Patterosn mushroom case.

An ARN spokesperson said: “Kyle is a passionate broadcaster with a strong belief in the freedom of opinion and speech.  This is one of the reasons his content is so compelling and why millions of people connect with his show every day.

“In this case, the processes we have in place to comply with broadcast regulations were actioned, which was a frustration for him.  We hope he’ll be back on air tomorrow.”
