Radio listening was still strong in 2019: Nielsen

During 2019, Radio has continued to perform strongly in the US according to data just released by Nielsen.
While adults 18+ spend almost six hours with TV connected devices, traditional radio caters for nearly twelve hours of media diets.
According to Nielsen, at a broad level, the news/talk format remains the most popular genre on the radio, a designation it’s held for nearly a decade, with Adult Contemporary (AC) and Country also top genres among adults, though their trajectories are heading in different directions (AC is growing; Country is declining).
Among younger listeners, Pop Contemporary Hit Radio (CHR) and Urban Contemporary are most popular choices, while AC and Pop CHR are the top two genres among the 25-54 crowd.
