As St Vincent de Paul in South Australia launch their Bushfire Appeal (in addition to the State Government appeal), NOVA 919 and FIVEaa are offering their support to those affected by the devastating Pinery blaze.
“We are providing free air time with commercials, CSA’s and editorial support with interviews and highlighting how and where the public can help donate,” says NOVA Entertainment’s Craig Munn.
“Vinnies has been overwhelmed by the support from the community and organisations such as Bank SA, Beyond Bank, IGA, Optus, NOVA Entertainment, FIVEaa, Woolworths Petrol, McDonalds, Foodbank and Shoeboxes of Love who immediately came on board to support South Australian communities affected by this this still unfolding tragic and heartbreaking event.” St Vincent de Paul CEO Mark Wark said.
Meantime MIX 102.3 has thrown their support behind 24-year-old Hannah from Pinkerton Plains who over the last three years has lost her mother, father and recently her home in the bushfires.
Hannah escaped the fire with her two German Shepherds only being able to gather a few photos before her family home was destroyed.
Take a listen to Jodie and Soda chatting with Hannah.
The blaze has killed two people and five more are in hospital in a critical condition as fears remain that the death toll will rise.
Many houses have been destroyed as crews edge closer to bringing the blaze under control.
