Radio ratings for Coffs Harbour released

Radio survey results for the NSW north coast region of Coffs Harbour were released today for the first time in over a decade, as commercial broadcasters continued their push to improve the competitiveness of regional radio.

Star FM is the station most listened to with 23.5% followed by 2CS with 20.1% and ABC Local Radio just edged out triple j by point one of a percentage point to sit third with 13.6 per cent.

In breakfast Star FM was again number 1 with 21.8% followed by 2CS with 19.8% and ABC Local radio third with 15%.

The survey was conducted by Xtra Research from 11-30 April, as part of a series of 20 surveys to be undertaken across regional Australia in 2016 to provide up to date data on radio audiences.

“The surveys are a great way to draw attention to the importance of regional radio and there has already been a positive impact in the markets where surveys have been conducted,” said Joan Warner, CEO of peak industry body Commercial Radio Australia.

“The results provide sales teams with fresh data to present to clients and stimulate advertisers to look at radio again,” she said.

Radio ratings have been released for Griffith, Dubbo, Mt Gambier and Port Macquarie this year, and surveys for the Western Australia regions of Albany and Kalgoorlie are set to be released later this month.
