Radio Technology on display at SMPTE 2005

At last week’s SMPTE exhibition a range of radio technology businesses showcased their wares. Amongst them were Paol Kirk, John Innes and Greg Watson.

Innes Corp once again had its very successful ‘Flashlog’ high end digital logger on display. The current version of Flashlog now has a range of new enhancements including extra storage capacity.

Innes Corp now supplies a new range of DigiTorc and Auricon sound cards and also told radioinfo that it has dropped the price of its popular AM/FM radio capture cards due to increased demand.

Paol Kirk’s Elan Audio stand featured a new mini analog broadcast desk, which would be especially suitable for training studios because of its external balanced and unbalanced connectors (pictured). Also on display were new audio processors suitable for transmission processing and a new range of speakers.

At the Dalet stand, Greg Watson displayed a range of video products plus Dalet’s range of radio industry solutions such as the DaletPlus Radio Suite, which provides a set of easy-to-use production and workflow management tools for news production and music programming. Every step of the production and playout process can be programmed, shared and automated through the system.

Radio Suite has a Newsroom computer system, a recorder and ripper capable of handling multiple audio formats called Ingest, user interface software called Broadcast, a Music Scheduling program and Remote Collaboration capability using an internet browser.
