Radio’s top 20 advertisers at year’s halfway point are…

The Radio industry ran two ad campaigns in the first half of the calendar year. One for Digital Plus and another for advertising on Commercial Radio. They held down second and fifth spots respectively on the Top 20 Radio Advertisers year-to-date according to latest research from AirCheck.

Yet the two campaigns combined were dwarfed by perennial advertising heavyweight, Harvey Norman who bought 88,898 exposures. And that was just in Australia’s eight largest markets and doesn’t include regional and rural stations.

AirCheck, a major advertiser with radioinfo, monitors advertising on all commercial stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adeleide, Perth, Gold Coast, Newcastle and Central Coast.

In the face of enormous financial problems, Clive Peeter’s kept advertising to hold down third place. They, along with Harvey Norman, The Good Guys and Bing Lee ensured that as a category, Consumer Electronics Sales and Service accounted for 28% of all advertising on Radio.

Next best was car and truck dealers with 22%.
