The first days of summer bring with it optimism, atmosphere and excitement for the warmer weather – and for one radio team, way too much skin. 

The RadioWest Wake Up’s Cliff & Dougie along with Loz took to the suburbs, broadcasting from Old Coast Road, just outside the Leschenault Waterways Discovery Centre in Australind. 

They had a challenge to their listeners – a Facebook post in search of 500 likes, which would force the trio to broadcast the final hour of the program in their swimwear. 

Well, guess what… the RadioWest listeners took up the challenge with great gusto, registering 571 likes (and climbing) by the time the clock struck 8am. 

Left with little choice but to strip down, Cliff & Dougie donned budgie smugglers and Loz brought out the bikini, much to the delight of passing traffic. 

Wake Up co-host Cliff Reeve said, “I have a feeling that a lot of the beeps we got from passing vehicles were aimed at Loz, not Dougie and myself.”
