Rapper in court over Radio Station Shooting

Grammy Award winning rapper, Lil’ Kim, is accused of lying to a grand jury, investigating the roles of her friends in a shootout outside a Manhattan radio station.

The prosecutor says Lil’ Kim (Kimberly Jones) had powerful personal and financial motives to lie about two of her entourage who had fired guns in 2001.

The perjury case is the result of an incident outside Hot 97 radio station, after Jones and the rap group, Junior Mafia, had been interviewed.

Members of Jones’ entourage and a rival hip-hop group were involved in a shootout, in which one man was wounded. It is alleged that 30 bullets were fired from six different guns.

In a bizarre twist, a man was shot in the leg earlier this week at the same radio station while rapper, 50 Cent, was being interviewed to promote his new album.
