Some discrete remarks.
Canberra - yesterday's publication of the results indicates that RN has over twice the market share of 2CC. Canberra is the only city where RN's ratings are over 10 (double-digit) and significantly beating a commercial talk station.
Sydney:
2GB & 2BL. It is a very long time that 2BL (702) has been consistently close to market leader. 2GB is only market leader during breakfast, mornings and evenings (with John Stanley). 2BL leads 2GB in the afternoon and drive by 2 and 5 percent respectively.
While there is no information for the 0000-0600 session with Michael McLaren, it has been reported that 2GB is overwhelmingly the market leader at 25%.
SEN:
Overall there has been a decrease in audience participation in the ratings at 84.1%. Usually it's 86% to 87%. That means that 15.9% are not listening to the stations not participating in the ratings. What is the 15.9% of other radio comprised? Community, 2SM, streaming services?
Brisbane: Many people in the industry said that AM is dead for a music format and is only for spoken word programming. 4KQ broke the mould and is second in the market place. As fictional character Maxwell Smart said "....missed it by that much..." by 0.1% behind B105. It is way ahead of talk station 4BC where those believe that AM is only for talk.
