Red Symons son, Samuel, passes away

Red Symons son, Samuel, has succumbed to an aggressive brain tumour and passed away surrounded by his family.
 
Samuel won a Health Minister Volunteer Award in May this year for his outstanding work advocating for people living with cancer.  
 
He was first diagnosed with a brain tumour when just 4 and had other bouts with thyroid and brain cancer during his life.
 
 Macquarie Media released a statement on behalf of the family this morning
 
“It is with the deepest sadness Red announces the passing of his beautiful son Samuel Symons. Samuel passed peacefully overnight surrounded by his family”
 
We ask that you please respect the privacy of Red and his family at this very sad and difficult time.
