Retro Live Rock presents its final show after 13 years onair

After a stint on commercial radio at C91.3, from 2007 to 2018 Ben Hollist & Mark Flanagan have been presenting a weekly 3-hour music & chat show called Retro Rock Live on local station 2GLF.

Mark says, “What started as 3 hours of music & chat quickly evolved into a tightly presented show with virtually no political correctness. We were joined by the World’s Worst producer Oliver Harvey in 2016, and together the 3 of us soon started to take apart the stupid people of the world, argue over different news items that needed discussion, and also expressing things that really cheesed us off.”

During 2018 they made a move to 2MCR where they will remain until this coming Wednesday October 7 when they present their last show.

Ben has decided he has had enough of the city life and is moving to the Clarence River region in northern NSW, so the boys have made the decision to put the show on ice for a while. Not only were they on local radio in Sydney, but they also had their programs replayed on several internet stations based in Queensland, Slovakia, the UK & the USA.

“While it’s sad to have to close the show out, we can look back at the last 14 years knowing that we achieved great success” said Mark.

“We have had the opportunity to speak to many people from film, tv, music & radio, far too many to mention here, and loved every second of it. And we learned so much out of it too. And no one was safe as we didn’t care about political correctness either.”

Mark will still be heard on his new show The R&B Experience every Thursday night from 9pm on 2BACR as well as a large number of internet stations.
