SAE flying high with Energy Groove Radio and Emirates

SAE Institute Sydney students will be on and in the air with a new show.

The international audio training institute is working in collaboration with Energy Groove Radio which has put together a deal with Emirates for its online radio showEnergy Groove Radio to be heard on Emirates in-flight entertainment system across all the carrier’s international routes.

The first 120-minute show is on air this month, with graduate Richard Doyle at the helm, presenting the Energy Groove Rewind Mix. Richard first became involved with Energy Groove Radio as a student in August 2012.

The show will air indefinitely on the Emirates Channel on a bimonthly basis and on demand. While this is the only show scheduled for Emirates so far, Energy Groove managing director Freddy El Turk said there are plans to expand in the future.

The new partnership with Emirates is a great opportunity “to further expand our programming internationally and reach new audiences as they fly around the globe,” according to El Turk. “As the partnership grows and more shows are added to the in-flight entertainment playlist, more SAE students will get the opportunity to have their voices heard all over the world.”

SAE Institute and Qantm College Sydney Campus Manager Jens Schroeder has told radioinfo the collaboration with the international airline is an exciting prospect for students:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our talented up-and-coming students to experience a different form of radio broadcasting. A 120-minute in-flight entertainment show has different content needs to a live radio broadcast, so this is a great opportunity for our students to further develop their skills.”
