Sam Simmons 24hour Radio Marathon

Can one man survive a whole day of live radio – juggling regular segments and extreme listener challenges? How will he sound 12hrs, 18hrs or 22hrs in?  Fresh from rave reviews at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and winning the 2011 Adelaide Fringe Festival Best Comedy Award, triple j presenter Sam Simmons is ready to take on the 24hour Radio Marathon.

When Tom and Alex returned from holidays, Sam accused them of being slackers. They retaliated, explaining that Sam’s few hours of radio a week couldn’t really compare with a full time Breakfast show. Things escalated. Sam declared he could do 24hours non-stop radio. Tom and Alex dared him to prove it.

So the challenge has been set; Sam Simmons will be on-air for 24hours co-hosting every show and completing challenges set by Tom, Alex and triple j listeners. If Sam succeeds, Tom and Alex have to deliver a live goat into the triple j studio. Why a goat? Why not.

Will he fight a world champion kick boxer?  Will he get a really shitty tattoo designed and voted for by you? Will he eat the world’s worst toasted sandwich? Who knows? He will make 100 pasta craft necklaces for 100 lucky listeners, he will arm wrestle a truck driver, he will not eat a live duck, maybe he’ll invent a new musical note. Call in, facebook and tweet to tell us what you want Sam to do nonstop for 24 hours.

Listen to the pandemonium and check out Tom and Alex’s blog for updates and photos as it happens.
