With a diverse grid housing 62 different programs, Triple R is a treasure trove of music, talks and independent programming.

The station is un-playlisted and due to its independence from government and advertising funding, broadcasters are free to say and play what they like. Its this freedom that creates the perfect climate for discovery, and keeps Triple R a vital part of Australia’s media landscape after 40 years on air!
 
In celebration of this and with Radiothon kicking off in 1 week, the station presents part three in a seven part series of videos with broadcasters, telling their Triple R stories in their own words. 
 
Sarah Smith presents Breakfasters from Monday to Friday 6-9am alongside Jeff Sparrow and Geraldine Hickey, and knows a thing or two about music! She talks about her journey of musical discovery with Triple R, and where it all began.


Since its inception as an educational broadcaster in 1976, Triple R has become Australia’s most influential community radio station with almost 14,000 subscribers and more than 440,000 listeners per week. Triple R is a not for profit Melbourne community radio station and Radiothon is its annual subscription drive that funds over half the station’s operations for the next 12 months. The series was created by Melbourne’s Running Panda Films, they’re a Melbourne based production company that bring stories to life.
