SCA partners with Beyond Blue and The Smith Family

Southern Cross Austereo have entered into a  two-year partnership with Beyond Blue and The Smith Family as part of its charity program, SCA Embrace, commencing January 1, 2019.

The two charities will be provided support via community service announcements and content opportunities across SCA’s extensive radio, television and digital networks.

SCA’S CEO Grant Blackley says, “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with The Smith Family and Beyond Blue to grow the awareness of their key initiatives, drive engagement and ideally make a tangible difference to those in need. We look forward to providing support through our comprehensive media portfolio and dedicated staff force over the next two years”.

The Smith Family CEO Dr Lisa O’Brien says, “This partnership will help raise awareness of the 1.1 million young Australians living in poverty and drive national support to help more young people break the cycle of disadvantage through education.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have been selected as one of SCA’s charity partners. Together, we can help thousands of Australian children in need improve their educational outcomes, so they can create a better future for themselves.”

Beyond Blue’s CEO Georgie Harman says, “By partnering with Beyond Blue, SCA Embrace is taking on an issue that impacts millions of people in Australia. Around two million people are living with anxiety and one million with depression and, alarmingly, the suicide rate is more than twice the national road toll.

“The best thing about this partnership is the impact it will have on the community. We will be able to reach millions of people, in all corners of the country, with information and resources to help them smash the stigma, connect them to support options when they need it most and to take action to achieve their best possible mental health.”
