Sea FM promotion features Big Brother-in-Law and 4 people in cupboards

It’s amazing what people will do for radio promotions. In Rockhampton, four people are locking themselves in cupboards, as part of a Sea FM station promotion. And, to top it off, the competition has been going for so long that it has become a family affair.

Just as the doors closed on the current round of the Capricorn Coast’s Sea Fm Cupboard Captives, one of the original applicants appeared in the role of Big Brother in Law to oversee the contestants.

Stephen Bradbury will be playing the part of Big Brother in Law to make sure the contestants stay in their cupboards patiently and silently, just as his sister-in-law did just over two years ago in the first round of the then competition.

The four contestants and their cupboards are known as:

Darryl – The Big White Stiffy; Kelly – Captain Kelly’s Kinky Cupboard; Mark – Captain Clandestine and Krystal – The Natasha Stasha (named after Stephen Bradbury’s sister in law).

Family, friends and ogling crowds stared in disbelief as the lunatic captives closed themselves in for what could be four gruelling days.

Program Director, Ross Turner, has told radioinfo: “It’s true – we have had a few upset callers about this promotion, just as we have had numerous calls of congratulations and support. Our client was after a real cut through promotion for their business, ½ way through it and they already deem it a success.”

The competition, mercifully for all concerned, will finish this afternoon. Apparently, you can bet on it at Sportsbet. Only in Queensland!
