Shane Hearn leaves FNMA, Wally Tallis interim CEO

Dr Shane Hearn has stepped down as CEO of First Nations Media Australia after a year in the role. Wally Tallis will act as interim CEO while the FNMA Board searches for a replacement.

Tallis is of Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Island descent with family connections to the Birri Gubba peoples of North Queensland. He has more than 30 years experience in Executive and Board roles including his current position as Chairperson of Triple AAA, the Brisbane based Indigenous Radio station and media organisation.

The FNMA represents Indigenous not-for-profit broadcasting, media and communications, and is based in Alice Springs.
