Show Radio returns for 2015

The 2015 Advanced Diploma of Radio students at The Australian Film Television and Radio School, will be broadcasting Show Radio 107.9FM & showradio.aftrs.edu.au at the 2015 Sydney Royal Easter Show live from 7am Thursday March 26.

It will be their first major assessment and broadcasting debut on Sydney commercial radio. There will be information about Royal Easter Show attractions, entertainment, rides, events and public transport, while the music will be predominantly country.

The students will experience the roles of announcer, producer, content digital producer, field reporter & panel operator; physically construct, and broadcast on, Show Radio in the Sydney Showground at Homebush.

Show Radio 107.9 FM will broadcast from the Martin and Angus Stand, and you may find reporters roving the showground, sniffing out a story.

AFTRS Head of Radio Lisa Sweeney says the school has been involved in the broadcast for 21 years, and this year’s students will not disappoint.

“Show Radio is a brilliant opportunity to showcase so much of the amazing talent available at the Show,” says Lisa.

“Our students will interview many of the exhibitors, stall holders and Show staffers, all of whom play a crucial part in bringing the event to life. The Class of 2015 is excited that we again have the opportunity to mount such an important broadcast.”
