Macquarie Radio Network boss, John Singleton, has delivered the eulogy and WorldAudio shareholder, Gerry Harvey, has attended a huge funeral for prominent Gold Coast developer, Brian Ray.

Ray and his wife, Kathy, died in a light plane crash in the Victorian alps two weeks ago on their way to visiting one of the developer’s latest projects.

In his emotional eulogy, Singleton – who grew up with Ray in Sydney – told around 1500 mourners:

“(Kerry Packer and) Gerry Harvey rang inconsolable. These are the strongest people in Sydney, who couldn’t believe that Brian and Kath were no longer with us. I’ve never known such love, I’ve never known such a beautiful couple. I can’t believe they’re not here, I can’t believe that they’ve left us.”

The funeral was also attended by Dawn Fraser and former Queensland Premier, Rob Borbidge.
