Soda gives away a car as his last Official Unofficial duty

Mix 102.3’s Mark ‘Soda’ Soderstrom reign as the Official Unofficial mayor of Adelaide has ended, but not before he awarded a listener a brand-new car.

Over the past four weeks, Soda has been on a mission to make living in beautiful Adelaide just a little bit more amazing and his top priority was to give back to the community and over the four weeks.

He certainly achieved that by securing discounts and special deals for the people of Adelaide, offering free plugs on air for small local businesses, organising a ‘Big Spring Clean’ to clean up the city, and Jodie and Soda dropped the fuel price down by 40-50c at five OTR locations across Adelaide, to $102.3 filling up over 1000 cars and saving people up to $30,000 in fuel.

But there wasn’t a dry eye in the studio last week when Jodie & Soda gifted the very deserving Jackie, from Aldinga, a brand new Holden Barina all thanks to City Holden.

Vikki, Jackie’s friend of eight years, nominated her for the giveback telling Jackie selflessly donates her time and energy to the local netball club, coaching the under 11s junior squad, and the local scout group, even though her children are grown up.

The giveback took Jackie completely by surprise when she opened her front door to see 40 of her closest friends, family, work colleagues and even the netball team to gather outside her home to say thank you.
