SCA a no-show at the annual get-together

Each year Commercial Radio Australia puts on a flesh pressing event with drinks and finger food for their members, members’ senior staff and invited guests. Judging by the amount of food left over, either people had lost their appetites or numbers were down on last year.

Conspicuous by their absence was a contingent from Australia’s biggest network, Southern Cross Austereo. It felt a little eerie without them, as if the home nation hadn’t turned up to its own Olympic opening ceremony.

Although conversations at these events are strictly off the record, we can report that among those gathered, if not quite jolly, there was a sense of bonhomie befitting the season and a degree of optimism for the year ahead.
