Perth’s Sonshine FM is planning its annual on-air party Radiothon, which takes place next month. It is “three days of mayhem as celebrities, TV personalities and pollies drop by the Radiothon phone centre to eat merrily, talk freely and raise funds for 98.5 Sonshine FM.”

Radiothon is Sonshine FM’s main fundraising event, a weekend where hundreds of listeners give to support the stations’ on-going work, “broadcasting a positive message to thousands of people across Perth and beyond.” This year’s Radiothon target is $100,000

Sonshine FM’s General Manager Barry Grosser told AMT: “As a community radio station Sonshine FM relies solely on donations and business subscriptions from listeners, members of the community and business sponsorship. This just covers our daily running costs.”
