Spida pedals round the Gold Coast for a cause

Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt from Gold FM’s Richard, Bridge and Spida Breakfast Show has taken to the streets of the Gold and Tweed Coasts riding a Pedicab in a bid to raise money for the children’s wards of local Gold and Tweed Hospitals for SCA’s national charity, Give Me 5 for Kids.

Spida will be on the roads each day from 8am covering all ends of the Gold and Tweed Coasts from suburbs A-Z.  He will be visiting local workplaces to collect donations, with all funds going to the appeal.

Spida says that although the task is tough, it generates excellent recognition for Give Me 5 for Kids:  “Being out on the road brings recognition to what we are doing – it’s draining and a solid ride but people appreciate it and it brings a great awareness to the cause.”

Spida’s Gold FM co-host, Richard, says Spida’s challenge this year of covering the distance in a Pedicab is tougher than ever.  “He might have the longest legs in the business and the brightest coloured runners on, but the AFL great Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt may have bitten off more than he can chew.”

Bridge is sure that Spida won’t give up on this challenge.  “I’m proud of my big bro; this is the third year of Spida’s Ride for Give Me 5 and he has made it tougher than ever.  He’s a dog with a bone and with his never say die attitude he will never surrender.”

Businesses can register for a donation and a visit from Spida at www.goldfm.com.au.
