SYN enters the budget lock-up

Melbourne Community station SYN is entering the budget lock-up today before broadcasting the federal budget at 9pm on 90.7FM and SYN Nation as well as RMIT TV.

A collaboration between a number of community stations sees the community radio network mounting significant budget coverage this year.

The Federal Budget Broadcast will include a live panel of young politicians, journalists and economists, including Aaron Lane (Young Liberals), Rushani Epa (Catalyst Magazine), Branwell Travers (Young Labor) and Joey Moloney (Economics Student’s Society of Australia). Interviews with politicians Fiona Patten, Adam Bandt and Mary Wooldridge will be broadcast in the program.

Represent producer Claudia Long and reporter Emma Koehn will report live from the Budget lock-up in Canberra.

“We’re very excited to be in the lock up this year and looking forward to bringing our audience the latest from Canberra on FM, digital and TV,” Long said.

Represent Executive Producer Rachael Ward is hosting the event live from RMIT TV Studios in Melbourne.

“Young people are incredibly interested in politics and political discussion, and Represent is glad to be the home of that conversation for youth under 26,”  Ward said.

Commercial Radio and the ABC are once again mounting budget coverage as they do each year.
