SYN’s latest addition to the staff team is Bec Grech as Community Engagement Coordinator.
Bec has been floating around the community media landscape for a few years, volunteering in a variety of roles; from membership admin, music managing, producing and presenting on SYN, to gig guide scripting and recording, graveyards and fills at RRR.
She had a brief foray into the world of music publicity, working with Brain Drain PR & Rice Is Nice Records throughout lockdown. Bec is currently focusing on refining the art of bedroom DJing and disco high kicks (queue Sandstorm).
The job is primarily responsible for outreach and volunteer training, coordinating SYN’s volunteer training programs, including inductions and volunteer workshops. In collaboration with the Community Manager, Bac will manage SYN’s mentoring program and international student program.
