Tamworth’s 88.9fm takes out top business award

Tamworth’s Radio 88.9fm has been recognised for excellence in customer service for entertainment at Australia’s largest regional business awards.

Held last Friday night at the Tamworth Entertainment Centre by the Tamworth Business Chamber, the event drew 870 leading businesses.

88.9fm took out the top prize in its category, beating other radio and TV stations as well as large entertainment centres.

Station CEO George Frame said “This award represents the continued hard work of a dedicated professional team in a community radio station.”

“In the last 12 months over 148 not-for-profit and charities organisations relied on 88.9fm to promote their events and that’s what community radio does so well.”

88.9fm board President Kevin Tongue topped the night off by winning the prestigious Noel Park award for his services to agriculture, local councils and the community.
