The Moonman has been grounded

SCA announced that Lawrence ‘Moonman’ Mooney has left the Triple M Sydney Breakfast show as of today.

Mooney was a regular on Triple M breakfast in Sydney and Melbourne, before officially joining Triple M Brisbane’s breakfast show in 2016.

He moved to Sydney breakfast in 2019, joining Jess Eva and Chris Page.

A spokesperson says, “SCA thanks Mooney for his contribution to the Triple M Network over the past five years.” 

Mooney has been a notable absence from the breakfast program since last week amid speculation about a falling out with his co-host Jess Eva, and pressure from poor ratings.

Eva and Page have been joined by Mark Geyer in recent days. Geyer was due to join the show on a full time basis next year.
