Adele is back and everyone is listening. The revered singer reclaims her rightful place on the AirCheck National Radio Airplay charts this week, debuting at No. 14 with comeback single ‘Easy On Me’. It’s one of the highest chart debuts of 2021 so far, along with Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bad Habits’ (No. 3), Taylor Swift’s ‘Mr Perfectly Fine’ (No. 5) and The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber’s ‘Stay’ (No. 10).

Having dropped at exactly 10am AEDT last Thursday, ‘Easy On Me’ racked up 109 spins within the first 24 hours of release, claiming 25 spins in the first hour. The single was playlisted by 31 metro and provincial outlets, including KIIS101.1 (36 spins), Nova 96.9 (35) and both smoothfm stations (46 combined).

Elsewhere on the chart, German-born multi-instrumentalist Jonasu enters the fray at No. 37 with debut single ‘Black Magic’. Nova led the charge, accounting for over 95% of the track’s 176 spins this week.

Topic’s 2019 hit ‘Breaking Me’ feat. A7S bounced back, increasing spins by 69.4% nationally. Nova proved to be the big difference, adding an extra 60 spins on top of the network’s previous week’s tally. ‘Breaking Me’ topped the National Radio Airplay Chart for four non-consecutive weeks in 2020.
