Three cornered contest in election night coverage

This Saturday night will see Sydney’s Titans of Talk go head to head in their coverage of the Federal Election.

2UE will broadcast from the Sydney Morning Herald newsroom with John Stanley presiding alongside commentators former Liberal Senator Nick Minchin and one time Labor leader Mark Latham.

In a cross-brand co-operative, the program will link up with the Fairfax web coverage and cross to Fairfax reporters, Fairfax Radio Network journalists and Fairfax print, digital reporters and correspondents.

Across the harbour at 2GB, Alan Jones will be hosting the MRN election coverage with the like-minded Herald-Sun columnist, Andrew Bolt and former NSW Labor treasurer Michael Costa.

Meanwhile ABC Local Radio and NewsRadio also have a line up of three, but with no politicians only radio presenters with Fran Kelly, Mark Colvin and Sandy Aloisi.

The two ABC networks will simulcast live from the ABC Election Centre in Sydney.

2UE, 2GB and the ABC all plan to start coverage at 6pm and continue until midnight – which, given the polls, could prove optimistic.
