Steve Barker will once again be providing round-the-clock-coverage for the annual Rolex Sydney Hobart yacht race.

Barker is now a professional voiceover artist, most notably for his work as the IVR voice of  Macquarie  Bank, ‘the Millionaire’s Bank.’
 
The iconic Boxing Day event attracts well over 1,200 competitors.

Barker has told radioinfo:

“Competitors’ Christmases are cut short and that’s just the beginning – their lives are on the line.

“They’re cold and wet for two to five days. And in the same clothes…

“To be part of the Blue Water Classic, is both a thrill and a privilege, and seriously hard work.”  

Barker will be covering his 14th consecutive race, this year for 2GB and Macquarie Media.
