ARN and TikTok have expanded the reach of their DAB+ station TikTok Trending into Canberra. The station, tailored to under 30s, adds to an array of new digital radio options for the Territory including Forever Classic 60s and Forever Classic 70s which are targeting the 40+ audience. Canberra’s DAB+ listening is not currently publicly shared in the GfK radio surveys.
TikTok Trending is a uniquely eclectic mix of music, decided by TikTok users. You’ll hear new global hip-hop star Doechii, who currently has the most played song on Australian radio, next to EDM classic Aussie’s Empire of the Sun and as well country outlaw Johnny Cash. TikTok both revives classics and introduces new music with TikTok Trending showcasing that 24/7 on ARN’s iHeart and across DAB+.
The station which launched four years ago and won the 2023 ACRA for Most Innovative DAB or Podcast Format also brings the most popular and viral sounds to life while platforming Australian music, creator-hosted segments, and TikTok’s signature sonic branding. It evolves with TikTok users preferences and trends and now engages over 250,000 under-30s listeners across Australia each week.
The Canberra expansion is an opportunity for advertisers looking to connect with highly engaged younger audiences across both digital and linear platforms.
Brett “Nozz” Nossiter, ARN’s Head of Content – Digital Radio said:
“We’re excited to see the station continue to grow and evolve, and the expansion into Canberra is just the start of what’s next in 2025.”
TikTok Trending can be heard on DAB+ in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and now Canberra. It is also on smart speakers and the free iHeart app.
