Tracy Bartram leaving FOX breakfast

Melbourne breakfast presenter Tracy Bartram is leaving Fox FM and will be off air by the end of this week. New team members will join Matt Tilley from next week.

Bartram told radioinfo: “It’s been six years of tremendous growth for me at FOX FM. But in all, I’ve been in breakfast radio for nine years and I’m ready to embrace fresh challenges.

“I’ll be focusing on my theatre shows, motivational speaking and other new plans I’ll be talking about shortly. Until then, I’ll be taking a well earned break and spending my mornings at the breakfast table with my beloved family. I wish the new team well.”

This significant change in another Austereo breakfast team comes just days after Sydney’s 2DAY FM announced Wendy Harmer would be replaced by Judith Lucy next year.

Along with changes at SAFM and 5MMM, the moves signal Austereo’s reassessment of its lineups around the country as the effect of ratings competition from Nova stations has begun to bite.

Speaking about Bartrum’s work, Austereo CEO, Michael Anderson said:

“For us it marks the end of a terrific relationship with a great talent. There is certainly only one Tracy Bartram and we were lucky to have had her with us for six sensational years… The decision to end the show while it was still so strong came after long discussions with Tracy and a lot of soul searching… We congratulate her on her achievements and wish her well in the next phase of her career.”

The new breakfast team with Matt Tilley will be announced shortly.
