triple j 2025 lineup sees the departure of Bryce Mills and Lochlan Watt

triple j has announced their lineup for 2025 with familiar faces and new, and a couple of departures.

There will be three new shows added to weekly programming. A new alt pop show on Wednesdays from 9pm-11pm, with the biggest releases in K Pop, J Pop, and more, hosted by Taiwanese-Australian indie pop singer-songwriter, Tiffi.

Perfect Sunday will wrap up the week from 7pm – 9pm. It will have the best in chilled music and artists sharing their Perfect 10, a curated playlist inspired by a question from presenter Colby Roberston.

triple j’s Hip Hop Show has a new host, A.GIRL showcasing the best in local and international Hip Hop. The Western Sydney artist already has had multiple Hip Hop Show residencies, a reinvention of Stevie Wonder’s Higher Ground for Like A Version (below) and performed at triple j’s Bars of Steel. The Hip Hop Show is on Thursdays from 9pm-11pm.

And, a new heavy music show is coming to Tuesday nights from 9pm-11pm which will be unveiled in January.

With that comes some goodbyes.

Bryce Mills will wrap up at the station after seven years. He started answering phones on reception before hosting triple j Breakfast for four years, and then to his current role as co-host on Lunch alongside Dave Woodhead. Bryce’s last show on Lunch is Friday December 13.

And a star of the heavy music scene, Lochlan Watt is departing, as is his heavy metal show The Racket. Joining triple j in 2011 with zero radio experience, Lochlan said:

“It has been the highest honour to serve heavy music as one of Australia’s few government-anointed community representatives, and I have loved almost every minute of this job. My time at triple j opened countless doors for me, and because of The Racket I have since met just about all my heroes, forged countless lifelong friendships, seen corners of the world I never thought blast beats and breakdowns would ever take me to, and been able to turn my passion of sharing the music that means so much to me into a career.”

Lachlan’s last show is Tuesday December 10, at 9pm.

Hardcore show short.fast.loud with Josh Merriel is also wraps up on triple j and moves down the hall to Double J.
