triple j shares programming changes for 2024

triple j has detailed the programming changes it’s bringing in for 2024.

Next year, there’ll be a double dose of Abby & Tyrone as triple j Drive moves to air weekdays from 3:30pm – 5:30pm, with an extra hour following Hack from 6pm – 7pm.

triple j’s Home & Hosed expands to a new time slot: 7pm – 9pm, Monday to Thursday. Resident Australian music expert Ash McGregor will be back to showcase the latest local music.

That means goodbye to triple j Good Nights for now.

Latifa Tee will still be heard every week on triple j, bringing new dance and club tracks on The Nudge on Fridays from 10pm and will head up hosting duties for Saturday night House Party from 6pm – 9pm, alongside Shantan Wantan Ichiban, who will keep soundtracking the Friday night House Party from 6pm – 9pm every week.

From Monday to Friday, Bryce & Concetta will be back on Breakfast, Lucy Smith returns to Mornings, triple j listeners will get an extra half hour with Dave Woodhead from 12pm – 3:30pm and Hack is back from 5.30pm – 6pm. Blak Out & The Hook Up will continue keeping listeners company on Sunday night.

triple j specialist shows soul ctrl with Tanya Bunter, The Racket with Lochlan Watt, Short Fast Loud with Josh Merriel and The Hip Hop Show (with new residents to be announced next year) and Mix Up with Kailyn Crabbe will all be back in their regular time slots.

The following program time changes will kick off from Monday, 8 January:

  • triple j Lunch with Dave Woodhead will now be from 12pm – 3:30pm Monday-Friday
  • triple j Drive with Abby & Tyrone will air from 3.30pm – 5:30pm with an extra hour after Hack from 6pm – 7pm
  • triple j’s Home & Hosed with Ash McGregor is expanding to 7pm – 9pm Monday-Thursday

triple j also says goodbye to two of its legends in 2024. After a 35-year run, triple j farewelled Richard Kingsmill last week. Richard finished up last Sunday; listen back to his final show via the triple j app.

Jess Perkins also wrapped up on triple j over the weekend.

For the past three years, she’s kept triple j listeners company every weekend. Stay tuned to hear more on who will be soundtracking weekends early next year.
