In only 3 weeks triple j’s Unearthed iPhone Application has taken the number one app spot in the music category and at one point reached third most popular free app across all genres – currently sitting at number nine, more popular than the Facebook app.

Together with Austereo’s Radar and dmg’s I Am With The Band, triples j proves that audiences are hungry to hear new Australian music if given easy access to it.

It is the first Australian App to enable music downloads direct to mobiles rather than via iTunes.

Based on the content available on the triplejunearthed.com website, the content-rich app makes available 53,000 songs from unsigned Australian artists which can be streamed, downloaded, added to personal playlists, and shared on social media or via email.

It also contains a weekly highlights podcast, streams the Unearthed digital radio station and offers playlists selected by triple j’s presenters. Both the featured playlist and highlighted artists are refreshed weekly.
