Two new appointments at THE EDGE

Marty Doyle has joined as THE EDGE as Head of Content and Andy Walsh has been appointed Head of Commercial Strategy.

General Manager of THE EDGE, Emily Copeland, says, “Both Marty and Andy have a strong track record of growing communities around brands through music-led content and experiences. The passion they both have for music and audio content, and their abilities to break the mould creatively, will be invaluable as we grow THE EDGE. I am very excited to welcome them to the team.”

On joining ARN, Doyle says, “This is such an awesome time in our cultural landscape. We have some of the best home-grown talent and stories in the world right now and I am absolutely thrilled to be joining a team committed to celebrating our local heroes and helping create a platform to crown even more.

“ I am incredibly energised in my new role and creating a new vision for THE EDGE that is rooted in innovation and discovery.  I look forward to working closely with all my peers in the industry to create a new style of commercial radio and content that matters to all young Australians.”

With over 15 years in the music industry, Marty has worked for some of the top music and cultural organisations including the Mushroom Group, Inertia Music, Modular, Sydney Festival, FBi Radio, Vice and Red Bull.  He has worn many hats from journalist, radio presenter, artist manager and A&R consultant to festival producer.

Andy Walsh has pioneered stellar campaigns with the world’s biggest brands and artists, collecting Cannes Lions and Clio’s industry awards for his work along the way.  His major collaborations include Brian Eno, Childish Gambino, Grimes, Nike, Microsoft and Red Bull.

Andy is also the co-founder of Listen, a New York brand experience agency specialising in audio branding and marketing innovation.

Of his appointment as Head of Commercial Strategy, Walsh says, “From a young age music has been a core part of my life. Music is like nothing else on this planet, it sparks emotions, drives culture, and shapes trends, and throughout my career I have been fortunate to create programs that add to this massive global passion. To join THE EDGE and help craft a platform that inspires a mass audience is a rare opportunity and I am excited by the chance to impact culture at scale.”

Marty commenced at THE EDGE in September and Andy hit the ground running last week.

Both positions will report to Emily Copeland, General Manager.
