The Hit Network in Queensland has two additions to the on-air teams with Jacob Brown (main picture) the new workday announcer for HIT Central Queensland and HIT94.7 Emerald, and Matt ‘Macca’ McDonald doing workdays on HIT101.9 Fraser Coast.
Jacob Brown has already been working for Hit on the Fraser Coast and Maryborough since early 2023 with his joyous enthusiasm for radio already seeing him nominated this year for an ACRA for Best Newcomer On-Air.
Adam Roche, Central Queensland and Wide Bay Group Content Director, said:
“Having worked with Jacob since the start of the year, it was a no-brainer to move him to Central Queensland and have him dominate the airwaves. Jacob is a passionate, creative announcer with a massive career ahead of him. He’s fun-loving, lives and breathes pop culture, and has already immersed himself into the Central Queensland way of life.”
Macca has worked for the Super Radio Network station 2HC in Coffs Harbour for the last two years, as Drive host and News Director alongside a part time Graduate Diploma in Radio and Podcasting with AFTRS that he will finish next month.
He said: “I’m so excited and I can’t wait to get amongst it, meet everyone, and live my dream job!”
Brown has already commenced in his new role for HIT Central Queensland. Macca starts in Hervey Bay on September 16.
