Saturday September 21, 2024 saw the radio and TV industries, friends, families and admirers come together to say farewell and toast Ron E Sparks in Sydney and Michael ‘Gibbo’ Gibson in Brisbane.
2GB’s Ben Fordham and WSFM’s Brendan Jonesy Jones (pictured with regular Radioinfo contributor David Rogerson) had organised the Sydney toast alongside Ron E’s family, with more than 100 friends sharing memories.

In Brisbane’s celebration of Gibbo, Jamie Dunn said when he saw Jesse, Gibbo’s son:
“He is Gibbo incarnate.
Every mannerism, every look, truly it was as though Gibbo had never left the building !
I could’ve put a pair of paint splashed overalls on him and done an Agro show with him.”
