Is UK Radio leading the way in innovation?

The Digital Audio Exchange (dax) will provide advertisers with a single buying point.

Just a month after we reported a “world first” from Absolute Radio, competitor Global Radio has come up with their own initiative that they say will “transform the digital advertising market.”

The Digital Audio Exchange (dax) will provide advertisers with a single buying point, for more than 30 premium digital music platforms. Apart from its own radio brands including Heart, Capital and Classic FM dax will connect advertisers to Spotify, Blinkbox and the opposition’s Absolute Radio Network.

Mike Gordon, managing director of commercial at Global told MediaTel, “This is an incredibly exciting innovation as we are now enabling advertisers to tap into a huge audience they couldn’t previously reach, while creating a new revenue stream for digital audio publishers.”

“The market is worth an estimated £1 billion in the US. Given the support and collaboration we have already received from both digital audio publishers and advertisers, we are very confident about its potential,” said Mr Gordon.
