Brisbane Radio Icon and 4BC statesman, Col Campbell has passed away this morning.

The 79 year old, who did the gardening show on 4BC for almost 30 years, passed away on the Sunshine Coast from cancer.

Speaking on 4BC this morning, General Manager David McDonald paid tribute to Col, calling him “a second father” to so many staff of the radio station.

McDonald said Col would stop into his office each Friday for a little chat about life, radio and everything. “He was a cheeky character and I will miss the bloke… he will be missed by all of us.”
