Australian radio is mourning the loss of Gold Coast-based radio producer and sound designer Adam Poort, who died last week at the age of 41 following a short battle with cancer.

Part of the industry for well over a decade, Adam started his radio career as a producer at SCA, later moving to ARN’s Hot Tomato.

In a social media post, the Gold Coast station said Adam was a treasured member of staff.

“This week the Hot Tomato family lost a beautiful man.

Adam Poort was a friend to everyone in our building. He worked behind the scenes here in production, so you wouldn’t know his voice, but you would know his work. He was loved by the whole team.

Adam was always smiling and always happy to have a chat about the footy, the weather, the Gold Coast and literally anything else.

We will miss him greatly and send our condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.”
