5MU presenter Barry Martin has passed away.
Barry was diagnosed last year with mouth and jaw cancer and endured several surgeries, a lengthy stay in hospital and daily radiology treatments, but was recently told the cancer had spread to his neck and chest and was inoperable.
Barry previously worked at 6KY, 6PM, 6PR, 6IX and most recently 5MU. He was one half of the mega high rating Watts and Martin duo. He was aged 77.
5MU’s breakfast show tomorrow morning with Adam Connelly and Mel Dee Dzelde will pay tribute to the legend.
Barry’s funeral will be held in Murray Bridge. We will add more details when they are available.
