David Dale died on August 6, aged 77. The Walkley Award winning journalist was a guest reviewer on 2BL while he also worked for the Sydney Morning Herald, later becoming breakfast presenter on 2BL, ABC Radio Sydney.
After the SMH Dale became the paper’s New York correspondent in mid eighties. After publishing with the Kerry Packer owned publication a cover story of Australia’s Most Appalling People he was sacked, despite increasing the circulation, because many of the 100 were Packer’s friends and associates.
He would later work for 2GB Sydney before becoming a journalism lecturer.
A celebration of David’s life will be held next Monday August 18 in the Refectory, Science Road, The University of Sydney, starting at 10:45 am.
