Well known Perth radio identity Gordon ‘Googs’ O’Byrne has died.

He worked at Perth stations 6PR, 6PM, 6IX, 6KY and 96FM, and in his later years at Coast FM Mandurah and Curtin Radio.

Outside of WA he also had a successful stint on 2SM Sydney in the 1970s.

Gordon had just turned 74 on February 1.

His funeral service will be held at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park, Padbury, 10.30am Thursday.
