Vale Peter Tangey

One of Central Victoria’s popular media personalities and KLFM Announcer  Peter Tangey passed away on Wednesday morning after a short illness.

The 71-year-old started his radio career at 3BO in the 90’s before moving to Easy Mix in 2009 and then KLFM in 2013 to host the afternoon programmes.

KLFM General Manager Brad Geier says Peter was a wonderful broadcaster, sharing his great knowledge of music and playing all the rock and roll hits he loved.

“Listeners loved his bright and easy going style.”

Peter served as a staff member at the City of Greater Bendigo in Events, worked for insurance company Shannons and was a well respected member of numerous car clubs and  was instrumental in bringing the National Swap Meet, one of Bendigo’s biggest events, from Ballarat to Bendigo.

Grier says the station has “received hundreds of calls from listeners who are in shock at the news.”
