Twenty years ago Todd Cochrane founded US companies RawVoice and Blubrry to foster the new audio format of podcasting and the associated technology and services. Sadly, the CEO passed away unexpectedly on the weekend, aged 61.

“Todd wasn’t just the founder of Blubrry—he was the heart and soul of our community. Since 2005, he dedicated himself to building tools, services, and opportunities that would help podcasters of every kind find their voice. His passion for podcasting and technology was unmatched, and his drive to support creators is what made Blubrry what it is today.

For those of us who knew him, Todd was more than a leader. He was a mentor, a cheerleader, and a friend. He deeply valued the Blubrry community and often spoke about how grateful he was for all of you—our podcasters, partners, and listeners—who helped bring his dream to life.

We know this news is shocking and painful. As we grieve, we also commit to carrying Todd’s vision forward. Together as a team and community, we will continue to grow, create, and support podcasters, just as Todd always believed we could.”
